Bad Köstritz Project

The Bad Köstritz biogas plant, with an electrical capacity of 4 MWel, was successfully commissioned in 2007. Organic residues from bioethanol production were used as feedstock. The biogas plant enabled the bioethanol plant to operate energy-autonomously, making it the first plant of its kind to operate without an external energy supply. The biogas plant is now used as a highly efficient facility for the utilisation of biogenic residues from the food retail sector.
