Independent engineering consultancy

Engineering biomethane and bioenergy plants from organic residues

Independent engineering consultancy for feasibility studies, process design, project management, commissioning and optimisation of biogas, biomethane and anaerobic digestion plants.

Residues instead of energy crops: Our biomethane and bioenergy concepts use existing biogenic residues – especially lignocellulosic material streams – and avoid the targeted use of conventional feed and energy crops such as maize silage.

Process solutions

Efficiently utilise residues and unlock new value creation

We develop and assess process solutions for the material and energetic utilisation of biogenic residues. The focus is on biomethane production, the processing of the contained plant nutrients into organic NPKS fertilisers, and the utilisation of economic potential from CO₂ certificates.

Utilise residuesOrganic residues and by-products are converted into suitable feedstocks for multi-stage fermentation and treatment processes.
Increase value creationMaterial streams that were previously costly to dispose of are transformed into biomethane, organic NPKS fertilisers and other usable products.
Safeguard investmentsTechnical feasibility, plant concept, energy potential and economic viability are assessed at an early project stage.

Focus areas for Germany & Europe

Biomethane from residues instead of energy crops

Our process solutions and plant concepts are based on the material and energetic utilisation of biogenic residues – especially difficult-to-degrade and lignocellulosic material streams. We do not rely on the targeted use of conventional energy crops or feed materials such as maize silage. The focus is on existing residues, closed material cycles, high energy recovery and the recovery of usable nutrients.

Digestate · post-digestion · nutrients

Advanced utilisation of digestate

Depending on the feedstock, process and previous retention time, fermentation residues can still contain organically bound energy potential. Targeted treatment, phase separation and adapted post-digestion can unlock additional biogas and biomethane yields, reduce methane emissions and concentrate nutrients for recovery.

Energy self-sufficient bioethanol plants

Residues and by-products from bioethanol production can be combined with anaerobic digestion, biogas or biomethane production, heat integration and nutrient recovery. The objective is a largely energy self-sufficient process with substantially reduced dependence on fossil energy.

Brewers' spent grain · press liquor · spent yeast

Circular economy for breweries

Brewers' spent grain, press liquor and spent brewing yeast can be used to produce biogas, heat, electricity and cooling. The recovered energy can supply mashing, wort boiling, bottle cleaning, fermentation, storage and wort cooling, thereby reducing external energy demand and CO₂ emissions.

Profile

Jaroslaw Domogalla

Magister Engineer (Magisteringenieur) and Graduate Business Administrator (Diplom-Kaufmann) with more than two decades of experience in bioenergy, international project management and industrial plant implementation.

Technical ExpertiseMy technical work focuses on bioenergy plants, multi-stage anaerobic digestion, hydrolysis, methane fermentation, digestate treatment and nutrient recovery. The aim is to develop efficient plant concepts for the energy and material recovery of organic residues.
Commercial ExpertiseIn addition to technical project work, I contribute experience in budgeting, supplier selection, project control and the economic evaluation of plant concepts. This allows technical solutions to be aligned at an early stage with investment frameworks, operating costs and commercial objectives.
International Project ExperienceMy international experience includes cooperation with clients, project partners and suppliers in Europe and Asia. Through communication in German, English and Polish, as well as experience with different project cultures, I can clearly align technical requirements, commercial objectives and project processes also in international projects.
